My sister is getting ready to open her second restaurant, and she recently realized that she will need to figure out the best way to transport meat and other perishables from one location to another, so we are doing a little research for her. In my opinion, she should just partner up with someone that can help her not have to stress about this problem and focus on what she does best, which is cooking.

Anything is possible Tara, but I would check https://www.ups.com/maps to see if you can get it there within 2 days via Ground Shipping. If not it will be quite expensive to ship 2-day air. Some clients are able to make 3 day Ground work but you need thick insulation and a lot of dry ice.

I started a home sweets business last November, and have gotten word spread to other states now.

Not typically, but Internet Explorer is notorious for having issues!

Hi Lucy, definitely agree. There are local carriers that you can look into, depending on your market strategy.

Usually, the local or state health board is focused on food handling and certification of the food manufacturing space. When it comes to shipping, you need to make sure you can rely on your cold shipping system in a way that allows you to feel 110% confident that you won’t get anyone sick! That’s the #1 priority. If you plan to do over $500,000 of annual sales shipped, you will need to follow additional FDA regulations as a shipping facility.
